Despite having a fine seam bowling line-up, the Mumbai Indians could potentially find themselves short in terms of spin bowling if they don’t address this problem during the auction. 20-year-old Rahul Chahar had a superb debut season, picking up 15 wickets with an average of just under seven. He also had a brilliant final, taking one wicket, and going for just 14 runs in his four overs.

However, as the Mumbai Indians have allowed Mayank Markande to join the Delhi Capitals, they have no other front-line spinners, with Krunal Pandya playing a greater role as a batsman.

They may wish to add another spinner to their roster, and adding some experience in the shape of Piyush Chawla may be useful. The 30-year-old has been an incredibly successful T20 bowler, playing 237 games in the format and picking up 251 wickets. If they pick him up in the auction, he could offer the Mumbai Indians some crucial squad depth.
