Shikhar Dhawan was clearly the player who was given the most number of chances without any positive returns. Dhawan failed to start in the lineup only in the second Test and his form was the biggest concern.

India's continued persistence with Dhawan in Tests also angered a lot of fans as he never looked settled in the crease. In the decisive fifth Test, Dhawan scored a mere 4 runs in the whole match which was a major reason in India losing the match.

With Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal scoring runs for fun and waiting in the wings for a long time around, India might surely drop Dhawan for the Test series against West Indies.
