#1 Dinesh Karthik

Karthik has been a regular in India's ODI squad for a sufficiently long time now though he hasn't been given a long run in any of the position in that vacant middle-order. A steady batsman at the crease, Karthik has the game to play in the middle overs. The 33-year old has the ability to rotate the strike and can even explode to secure runs at a brisk pace.
However, it is uncertain that he will continue for India in the ODI series against Windies. Karthik failed to grab upon the opportunities that came his way in the Asia Cup to take his side home in any of the games. He would rue himself for not converting his starts into big scores for his team. It would be very fortunate for him if selectors still invest faith in his ability to carry as India's middle-order batsman even in the World Cup.
