Both Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul provided a solid base and scored more than 50 runs in both the innings of the test match. This is a rare feat for the Indan openers, especially in the overseas conditions.
It provided India with a strong foundation and the middle order ably capitalized on the good start provided by both KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan. The middle-order batsman helped India reach decent totals of more than 300 runs in both the innings.
However, the only negative was that after both the openers got off to a good start, none of them managed to convert it into a big score in both the innings. This is something which the management and the players themselves can work on for the upcoming test matches.
Getting off a good start in both the innings was another positive sign condition for team India and it was another important factor which helped them to win the match.
