Fastest Hundred in ODI Cricket
Scoring a hundred at run a ball takes some effort. When Shahid Afridi scored a 36 ball hundred, many cricket pundits thought this record would stand the test of time. In came Corey Anderson and butchered his way to a hundred in 34 deliveries.
When AB came to bat against West Indies in Jo'burg in the 38th over, little did he know that he would score the fastest hundred in international cricket off a mere 31 balls.
Rohit Sharma has already done this in T20Is. He holds the joint fastest century record in T20 cricket with Colin Munro and their centuries came off 35 deliveries. If Rohit Sharma is in the right frame of mind and decides to go hammers and tongs right from the start, there is every possibility that he may eclipse AB's record of the fastest hundred in international cricket.
If this happens, this would be a really special moment in Indian cricket, as India once held the record for the fastest hundred when Mohammad Azharuddin had taken the Kiwi bowlers to cleaners in 1988 and scored a superlative century in 62 balls.
