Rishabh Pant has been included in the ODI squad for the first time at the expense of Dinesh Karthik for the ODI series against West Indies. Rishabh Pant's sheer brutality with the bat played a major factor in his selection for the ODI series.

Pant might have already sealed his spot in the Test squad as he has racked up 184 runs in just two innings in the recently-concluded Test series against West Indies. He will look to carry the momentum and also try to seal his spot in the ODI XI too as the likes of Ambati Rayudu, Dinesh Karthik and Manish Pandey haven't been consistent.

If he continues his fine performance with the bat, he can be the long-term solution to India's middle-order batting conundrum and also find a spot in the starting XI for the much-important World Cup.
