#1 Afghanistan
One of the most improved cricketing nations this decade, Afghanistan have repeatedly made headlines with their heroics on the field. Be it playing out a tied ODI match against India in the Asia Cup, defeating Pakistan in the ICC World Cup warm-up match or crushing Bangladesh in their first ever overseas Test match, Afghanistan have done it all.
They have even defeated two-time World Cup winners West Indies in a T20 World Cup match.
Despite the many things that the Afghan nation has accomplished in the last few years, the one thing they are yet to do is defeat India in the T20 format. India have battled Afghanistan in two T20I matches so far, and they have comprehensively beaten them on both the occasions.
Interestingly, both the matches took place as part of the ICC T20 World Cup. Their first meeting was in 2010 at the Darren Sammy International Cricket Stadium, where Ashish Nehra’s three-wicket haul helped India secure the win.
The two Asian countries went head-to-head in the succeeding T20 World Cup as well; in that game, Lakshmipathy Balaji’s 3/13 did the trick for the men in blue.
