3 things DC need to do right to beat CSK in IPL 2023 clash

Delhi Capitals (DC) will play their last match of IPL 2023 today against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. DC have already been eliminated from the race to the playoffs, but a win in today's match can help them avoid a 10th-placed finish.

The David Warner-led outfit hold the ninth position in the IPL 2023 points table right now, having earned 10 points from 13 matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad have recorded four wins from 13 matches and are in the 10th spot. If DC lose today and SRH win tomorrow, Hyderabad can push Delhi down to the 10th position.

Delhi will be keen to ensure that they do not finish last in the standings. Having defeated the Punjab Kings in their previous outing, DC will aim to end the season with another win.

#1 Delhi Capitals will have to build a big opening partnership

One of the major areas of concern for the Delhi Capitals this season has been their opening partnership. DC have lost at least one wicket during the powerplay in the majority of their matches.

In the last game against the Punjab Kings, DC brought Prithvi Shaw back into the playing XI and gave him a chance to open the batting with David Warner. Shaw and Warner had a 94-run opening partnership, which laid the base for other batters to launch an all-out assault on the bowlers straightaway.

If Shaw and Warner can build another big opening stand in today's IPL 2023 match, DC will gain the upper hand against the Chennai Super Kings.

#2 DC will have to use their spinners well

The pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium helped the spinners in the previous match. Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar wreaked havoc while playing for the Punjab Kings against the Delhi Capitals.

DC will hope that their spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel do a similar job for the team in tonight's game. Both spinners bowled total six overs in the previous game and scalped one wicket. If David Warner uses them well, Patel and Yadav can turn the game in DC's favor.

#3 DC will have to improve their fielding in today's IPL 2023 match

Fielding is one of the most important areas of cricket. If a team fields well, it can cut down 10 to 15 runs from the opposition team's total. In the last game against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), the Delhi Capitals dropped some crucial catches and missed a couple of run-out opportunities as well.

While DC managed to win that game against PBKS, the result may not be in their favor always if they field in a similar manner. David Warner will expect a better show from his fielders in today's IPL 2023 match.
