#3 Improve slip catching
Since the retirement of players like Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar, and Virender Sehwag, India have just not been able to replace them. But the concern is that the Indian team does not miss them for their batting but for slip catching. "Catches win matches", a phrase all cricket fans have heard millions of time has held true even in the recently concluded match which India lost by a mere 31 runs.
As many as 3 catches were dropped in the slip cordon resulting in 86 extra runs which made a huge difference on the match's result. Slip catching is the most crucial part of Test cricket and any team aiming to win consistently home and away, need to be at top of their game while fielding in the slips along with the other departments i.e. batting and bowling.
