#2 Seasoned players in batting need to step up
It has been some time ever since the start of the South Africa tour that Indian batsmen have failed to step up to the occasion in testing conditions. They haven't been in the greatest of the form in the 3-match series against the Proteas and even in the first two matches here in England. Players like Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane need to shoulder more responsibility and carry the batting line-up together with their skipper.
Vijay, who was India's most successful player on India's last tour to England has witnessed a dip in form on the overseas tours. Pujara, who is one of India's best Test batsmen, has disappointed high time as run seems to get dried up from his bat. And India's vice-skipper looks a man short of confidence. Rahane needs some backing from the management to let him express on the field with his attacking approach.
