#3 Skipper must persist with his best playing XI
In all the Tests captained by Virat Kohli, India have not gone in with the same playing XI in any of the successive games. Kohli has developed a habit of making chop and change in his starting XI for any game. He at times has been on the receiving end of this criticism for not backing his players and taking some irrelevant steps in due course.
In the first Test when the entire unit failed as a batting group, only Shikhar Dhawan was axed from the team for the 2nd Test. It is always the case that Indian team has shown inconsistency with their playing XI. This is a sign of lack of confidence in the players and their ability to perform at the highest level. As we move on in the series, Kohli should now think of fielding his best XI despite any other factors even if it is at the cost of playing the same XI at Trent Bridge.
