KC Cariappa is one of the finest spinners in the domestic circuit. Hailing from Bengaluru, he was the talk of the town when he was roped in by Kolkata Knight Riders for 2.4 crores from his base price of 10 lakhs.

He attracted a lot of eyeballs including those of Jacques Kallis and Gautam Gambhir during the practice session of the Champions League. This played a major role in fetching KC Cariappa an IPL contract with Kolkata Knight Riders.
To his dismay, he only got a solitary chance to prove his worth and was released by KKR. He went to play for KXIP after being bought at a price of 80 lakh INR in the 2016 IPL Auction. However, KC Cariappa couldn't justify the faith of the team management as he scalped just 8 wickets at an economy of 9.23 from 9 matches.
He hasn't been able to find a franchise since the 2016 edition of the IPL.
