His batting record in India also seemed to dip a little
Despite being the most successful Test leader of all time with victories in 53 games in the longest format of the game, Graeme Smith couldn't clinch a series victory in India. However, his record in the country is not as bad as it might seem.

He captained the Proteas on three tours to India in 2004, 2008, and 2010 respectively. South Africa lost the Test series on the first of those tours in 2004 but managed to draw the same in the remaining two.
In the 7 matches that he led the Proteas against India in India, he managed one win, two draws, and two losses. Those are not bad numbers by any stretch of the imagination, but, are definitely underwhelming for a leader of Smith's stature.
His batting record in India also seemed to dip a little, as he has scored just 3 half-centuries in the country with an average just above 38 and the highest score of 71.
