#2 Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw, the wonder boy from Mumbai has already started knocking at the doors of the Indian team. Shaw's selection for the last two tests has warranted the need for a new face at the top of the order after the shoddy performances by the current openers.
The selection is vindicated by the fact that he made his first-class debut last season and has already scored 1398 runs in 13 matches to go with seven centuries. These runs have come at a healthy strike rate and at an average of 60.78. He also scored 62 runs in the first innings against England in the only practice match before the start of the series.
