Bangladesh had just started to grab attention in international cricket and were facing the tough teams like India and South Africa in a tri-series tournament at home. In the first match of the TVS Cup, India batted first and with the help of Yuvraj's 102* off 85 balls went onto score 276 at the end of their innings

It seemed a competitive total first and the fans hoped for a good fight from the Bangladesh team. But the likes of Zaheer Khan and Ajit Agarkar had other ideas as they knocked out the opposition for a mere 76 runs in 27 overs.

The Bangladesh team failed to even match the score of 102 by Yuvraj Singh and suffered a humiliating 200-run defeat in the opening match of the series. Bangladesh fell short by 26 runs and were outscored by Yuvraj's knock alone.
