The selectors keep a keen eye on IPL performances and very often fast-track promising prospects into the national team.

One such example is Parvinder Awana, the Delhi-bowler who forced everyone to talk about his pace and wicket-taking prowess. Back in 2011, he donned Kings XI Punjab colours and picked up 17 wickets.

He earned a spot in the Indian T20 team, but could not impress and it has been all downhill from that stage.

His form dipped back in 2014 when he came down with Chikungunya and he has remained out of favour, even for his Ranji side, Delhi.
