# Rohit-Dhawan need 29 more runs to become India's second most successful opening pair
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are among the best openers in ODI cricket in the recent past. And they are now within the touching distance of breaking yet another record. The duo so far scored 3,891 runs for the first wicket while batting together in ODIs and need to score another 29 runs to surpass the runs scored by Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag for the first wicket in ODIs.
Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly are the most successful opening pair for India - 6,609 runs for the first wicket between them in 136 ODIs. Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag are the current second-most successful pair in ODIs for India - 3,919 runs in 93 ODIs.
Rohit and Dhawan have scored 447 runs for the first wicket in 6 ODIs since the start of the Asia Cup 2018 and that includes their mammoth 210-run stand against Pakistan. Both these openers are in good nick in the white-ball cricket and will surely try to break this record in the second ODI against West Indies.
