Mayank Agarwal could well be a replacement for Rayudu.

Though Mayank Agarwal did not have the best of IPLs he cannot be ruled out from being in the selectors' scheme of things when they meet to decide upon Rayudu's substitute. Barring the IPL, his last season went exceptionally well. Not only did he impress in the longer format in Ranji Trophy, he also upped his limited-overs' game in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy.

In Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy he collected 258 runs including three half-centuries at a strike-rate of around 144. He was again ruthless in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as he scored 723 runs in eight matches at an average of 90. His strike-rate in the tournament was over 100.

Given such impressive outings in the domestic circuit, it was unfortunate that he did not make the cut for the UK tour. In his prime, Mayank Agarwal deserves a place in the squad and he may well be included as Rayudu's replacement. .
