Sourav Ganguly, also known as Dada had played the lead role for India in the history of cricket. He was the cornerstone for India during the 2003 World Cup. In the same way, he also proved to be a good T20 player which reflected in his form in IPL while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders.

The southpaw played the first 3 editions of IPL for his home side, Kolkata, from 2008 to 2010. He even captained his side which is a matter of pride. He scored 1031 runs for Kolkata in this 3 editions which even included his career best score of 91 runs in 2008.

But, Kolkata left him for the next edition of Indian Premier League which led to Ganguly being under the hammer in the auction list. He was later on bought by Pune based franchise for the 4th edition of IPL which even featured Yuvraj Singh.
