The bowling combination that will suit India the best

Kohli will have a lot of options to pick from in the bowling
Kohli will have a lot of options to pick from in the bowling

India have gone with five specialist fast bowlers and a bowler all-rounder in Hardik Pandya and the spin department will be marshalled by R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and the chinaman Kuldeep Yadav who has displayed good form on tour so far.

To lend balance, India could pick Pandya as one of the seamers and Ashwin as one of the finger spinners to partner the wrist spin of Kuldeep. That leaves two spots between Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Shardul Thakur.

Because he can bowl long spells and also has played county cricket for Sussex this year, Ishant is a favourite for one of the spots and then Kohli has the option of either going for Shami, who can swing both the new and the old ball or Yadav, who can hustle the batsmen with his pace.

Either way, India seem to have an attack that hasn't been this varied in a long, long time and it is now upto them to deliver.
