#3 Highest opening stand in the third or fourth innings of a Test
In the ocean of Test cricket history, there is only an opening stand of over 300-runs in the third or fourth innings of a Test match, and that is made by Bangladesh's opening pair of Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes.
The two southpaw batsmen scored 312 runs in the third innings of the Khulna Test back in 2015 against Pakistan. Tamim Iqbal, Bangladesh's number-one opener, hit the first-ever double-ton as a Bangladeshi in the home ground in that match, and Imrul Kayes also hit a ton. And thus, they passed 300-runs mark in the third or fourth innings of a Test match for the first time in the history.
Despite the tremendous batting display of these two batsmen, Bangladesh failed to win the match. In the first innings of the Khulna Test, the hosts scored 332 runs. Pakistan replied with a strong total of 628, courtesy to a pleasant double-ton of Mohammad Hafeez. The fifth day of the match came to an end when Bangladesh reached 555 for six in that match with the help of historical effort of 312 of Tamim and Imrul.
