James Faulkner became a household name only when he joined the Rajasthan Royals in the 2013 edition of the IPL, two years after he made his debut for the Pune Warriors India.

Faulkner played all the matches in the 2013 season. The Tasmanian all-rounder missed out on the Purple Cap by a margin of four wickets, falling just short of Dwayne Bravo's 32 wickets. His career-best bowling figures of 5\16 came against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the same season.
