Alec Stewart of England attempts to run out Marvan Atapattu of Sri Lanka
Something that stands out in Marvan Atapattu’s career as an ODI batsman is his run out count of 41

The former Sri Lankan captain and opening batsman was one of the most important members of the team’s top order for much of the late 1990s and the noughties. However, something that stands out in Marvan Atapattu’s career as an ODI batsman is his run out count of 41.

It is quite an alarming figure since he played 268 ODIs and that is the lowest among all the other batsmen in this list. Atapattu’s run out percentage of a whopping almost 16% is an indictment of the fact that although he did not look like the most obvious run out candidate, his run out count is quite high.
