There is no denying that Parthiv Patel hasn't had enough success in the limited overs arena. His inability to play longer innings at the top of the order has been one of the reasons why he was consistently overlooked by the selectors.

However, in the crunch Vijay Hazare trophy final, he looked determined to play the longer innings. His plucky 105 from 119 balls in a green Chinnaswamy track helped Gujarat to hammer former Champions Delhi by 139 runs and secure their first title.
