Holder was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for INR 9.2 lakh during the 2013 IPL auctions. The Barbadian all-rounder played just six games for the CSK during the sixth season and took 2 wickets at an economy of 8.40. After being released by the Super Kings in the next season, Holder was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014.
Holder played two seasons for the 'Orange army' before moving to the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2016. Holder was a part of the West Indies squad that won the ICC World T20 title in 2016 under Darren Sammy. Unfortunately, Holder did not get enough opportunities to prove himself at Chennai.
