#1 Ian Chappell
Born in a cricketing family, Ian Chappell is one of the most famous Australian cricketers. Having made his Test match debut in 1964 against Pakistan at Melbourne, Ian Chappell went on to play 75 Test matches for Australia. He has scored 5345 runs in 136 innings at an average of 42.42.
Chappell has struck 14 hundreds and 26 fifties in Test match career. His highest score of 196 came against Pakistan at Adelaide. Ian Chappell captained Australia between 1971 and 1975. He has led them in 30 Tests and lost only five of them. Chappell has also played 16 ODI matches for Australia. Chappell retired from international cricket in 1990.
