This year’s edition of the World T20 saw a number of thrilling matches go right down to the wire. The group stage match between England and South Africa was a high scoring cliffhanger that ultimately went England’s way on the very last ball.

Hashim Amla and Quinton deKock gave South Africa a blazing start, before Duminy and Miller gave the final flourish to help the team reach 229, a safe total by all means.

Jason Roy, however, had other plans. He decimated the South African bowling, and Dale Steyn in particular, in an inspired innings of 43. Joe Root then came in and gave the innings shape with a blitzy 83. The English team seemed to have lost the trick in the final overs, but a calm Moeen Ali took them over the line.
