#1 Cheteshwar Pujara
Cheteshwar Pujara has made India's number 3 position after the retirement of the great Rahul Dravid. Although replacing 'The Wall' is practically impossible, Pujara has been able to carve out his own place in the heart of all Indian cricket fans.
He has an old-fashioned approach to Test cricket. With his solid technique he likes to occupy the crease for long periods of time. Pujara bats as his life depends on it, rarely does he throw his wicket away.
He scored 1140 runs this calendar year at a wonderful average of 67.05. He also played India's longest innings in terms of balls faced when he made a 525 ball 202 against the Australians in Ranchi. After batting for all 5 days in the Test match against Sri Lanka at Kolkata, he became only the third Indian to achieve this feat.
Pujara is currently at the top of his batting form and he would be looking to make the most of it in 2018.
