Primarily termed as a bowling all-rounder, the 21-year-old got his first IPL contract with Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2013. Not many people knew of Axar Patel until the 2014 edition of the IPL, when he won the "emerging player of the year" award, playing for KXIP.

Then, he went on to play for India as a replacement of then-injured Ravindra Jadeja and is still around in limited-overs cricket. He made it to the ICC top-ten bowler rankings in ODI cricket last year, which surprised many.

He will be a handy pick for any limited-overs franchise across the world.
