Swapnil Asnodkar was another batsman who showed tremendous potential but failed to kick on from there. He scored 311 runs from nine matches in the 2008 IPL season and was seemingly on his way to achieve great success.

The success which he saw in his first season would not be repeated in the future. His destructive abilities with the bat seemed to disappear and he looked like a shadow of what he once was.

Asnodkar played only 11 games in the next three seasons and barely scored anything of substance during these matches.
