Rahul Sharma made a name for himself during the 2011 season of the IPL. The leg-spinner proved to be a valuable member of the Pune Warriors and nobody would blame the franchise for thinking that they had discovered their next bowling superstar.

The impact that he made was so massive that he was often compared to Anil Kumble, especially because of his height and action. He showed that he possessed the ability to pick up wickets at crucial times as well as bowl during the power play overs. It was a season which Sharma can truly look back on with happiness.

His performances did see him get called up to the national side but it was all downhill from there. His form declined and he was eventually dropped from the squad.
