Gautam Gambhir is one of the best limited-overs openers to have ever played for India. He was brilliant in One Day Internationals and played a huge role in India’s 2011 World Cup win with a stunning 97 in the finals against Sri Lanka. Gambhir has scored 5238 runs in 147 One Day Internationals at an average of almost 40.

With 11 hundreds and 34 fifties, Gambhir was a consistent run-getter for India in ODIs in the timespan 2008-2012. In the World Cups, Gambhir has played nine games and scored 393 runs at an excellent average of 43.67.

However, Gambhir has not been able to score hundred in a World Cup game. He has four fifties to his name in the marquee event. His highest score in a World Cup game is 97.
