2. Ajinkya Rahane
Rahane is India's top man in foreign conditions. So, it was a big reason to worry for India when Rahane was struggling with his form in England. India got a huge relief in the third match when Rahane regained his form and was batting with a new confidence. Rahane needs to carry forward his form and confidence in Australia if India wants to make a history in Australian conditions.
Rahane would be crucial for India in the lower middle order to set a higher target. Rahane needs to show why he is essential for India in the conditions which mostly favour seamers. Rahane also has the chance of scoring big runs in these conditions.
1. Virat Kohli
Virat was exceptional in England in the Test series. This year he had not only scored runs with an average of about 59 but also did not give away his wicket to Anderson. Virat made some adjustments in his batting this time and he went on to score 593 runs in three matches. Virat became the new run machine in England.
He needs to replicate his last performance in Australia. In 2014-15 Australian series, Virat scored 692 runs at an average of 86.5. He also scored four hundreds in that series. India's batting revolves around Virat and it becomes very important that he scores more runs in Australia. Indian team becomes helpless if Virat gets out early. So, Virat has to once again lead from the front if India wants to create a history in Australia.
