One of the best batsmen to emerge out of India’s domestic system, Subramaniam Badrinath was a key yet an underrated component of the Chennai Super Kings in the initial years of the League.
The 36-year-old was part of two triumphs while representing the Chennai Super Kings in 2010 and 2011 and bettered his performance from previous each year when he was part of the setup.
In 2010, Badrinath scored 356 runs in 16 matches at a strike-rate of 117 and then the following year, he amassed 396 runs in 16 matches at a strike-rate of 126, helping his side win a second straight title.
For his ability to come in difficult circumstances and rescue the side, Badrinath was tagged the ‘Umbrella Man’ of the side.
