KKR, captained by Gautam Gambhir, fielded just three overseas players against the now-defunct Deccan Chargers side at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

KKR played this game with Jacques Kallis, Eoin Morgan and Ryan ten Doeschate as the overseas players. On a slow, turner at the Eden Gardens KKR managed to put up a competitive total of 163/4 in 20 overs.

Powered by a solid batting performance by Kallis, who scored 53 runs with the bat with seven boundaries and a six, KKR went to win the match by 9 runs.

Kallis was adjudged the man of the match for his batting performance which proved to be the difference between the two sides on the day.
