One of the greatest all-rounders in world cricket, Flintoff was a part of the player auction in 2009. He was draft by Chennai Super Kings for an astounding USD 1.55 Million. He was injured after 3 matches in IPL 2009 season. He then returned home and never played in the IPL again.

In his three match career in IPL, he did not manage to live upto the expectations. In his last match of IPL, he bowled one of the costliest spells giving away 50 runs in 4 overs without a wicket.

He was also a part of Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League. Flintoff hung his boots in September 2010 at the age of 32.
