Mohammed Shami stood out in the pace bowling department along with Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma. He took 16 wickets from 4 matches (8 innings) with best figures of 6/56 in the 2nd innings of the 2nd Test match at Perth.

In the first Test match at Adelaide Oval, India scored 250 runs in the first innings. Mohammed Shami took 5 wickets in the match and was one of the performers which helped Team India restrict Australia in first innings.

He was simply outstanding in the previous two overseas tours of South Africa and England. He bowled with heart and provided big wickets for Virat Kohli in historic 2-1 Test series win over the hosts Australia.
