5 memorable moments from Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad that don't fade away

David Warner

After some close games, the one-sided curse of IPL 2016 has come back as Sunrisers Hyderabad absolutely demolished Mumbai Indians in a manner that will perhaps haunt them for a long time to come.

Batting first, David Warner and his men got off to a flying start as posted a competitive total of 177 runs to give his bowlers a very good target to defend. And his bowlers did much better than he could have expected.

While Ashish Nehra destroyed their top order, the other bowlers did the rest of the job as they bundled Mumbai Indians for an embarrassing 92 runs. With his win, SRH find themselves leading the IPL 2016 points table.

There were plenty of memorable moments from the match that don't fade away, quite like the Axe Signature range of body perfumes. Here are 5 of the best:

David Warner continues good form

David Warner has been solid form ever since the beginning of IPL 2016. As a captain, he has led his team from the front by playing some outstanding innings with the bat. It was no different against the Mumbai Indians as he played yet another fine knock against Rohit Sharma’s men.

He faced 33 balls to score 48 runs and gave his team the perfect start to the match. It is of little wonder, then, that Hyderabad have been doing well of late and find themselves at the top of the table.

Shikhar Dhawan stays not out again

Shikhar Dhawan

Like mentioned before, a good opening pair is the key to success—just look at the points table of IPL 2016. Shikhar Dhawan came into this tournament on the back of atrocious form. He had forgettable outings at the Asia Cup and the World T20 and many wanted to see him dropped from the team.

He continued his terrible form in the early stages of the IPL, but has now fully recovered and established himself one of the highest run-getters in the tournament thus far.

And the best part is that he is not only opening games, but also finishing them unbeaten. He played another fine unbeaten innings of 82 in 57 balls and stayed till the end to make sure that his team got a good score on board.

Yuvi hit wicket

Yuvraj Singh

And we have our first hit wicket of the tournament. Yuvraj Singh was sidelined for the first 7 games of the tournament, thanks to an injury. He made his long awaited debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last game against Gujarat Lions in a game where he couldn’t amount to much.

However, he made a strong comeback today as he scored 23-ball 39 to take his team’s total towards the competitive region. He showed glimpses of his best and might as well have gotten his team some extra runs had he not clattered his bat on to the wicket to end his 100th IPL game in the weirdest manner.

Ashish Nehra’s blast

Ashish Nehra Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians have a formidable batting line-up, definitely one that can certainly chase down 178 runs in the allotted 20 overs. So to get the better of them, SRH bowlers needed to get quick wickets—and people hoped that the combination of Mustafizur Rahman and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar would provide them that.

The wickets did come, however, but not from the usual suspects, but Ashish Nehra. The experienced Indian pacer absolutely rocked the Mumbai Indians batting line up in the 3 overs that he bowled. He gave away only 16 runs in the process and took out 3 top-order batsmen to virtually win the game for his team even before the powerplay was concluded.

The Fizz fury

Mustafizur Rahman

As Ashish Nehra cleaned the top order of the Mumbai Indians, in a display that earned him the man of the match award, Mustafizur did the remaining when he desecrated the lower order of Mumbai Indians.

By the time he came to bowl, Mumbai had only 4 wickets in their hand and the match was basically won for the Sunrisers. Hence, it gave the Fizz freedom to bowl the way he likes—and that resulted him in getting 3 wickets himself.

He bowled 3 overs to give away only 18 runs to pick up 3 wickets in the process.
