IPL is one of the most successful franchise-based T20 leagues in the world. The tournament's popularity has reached new heights over the years. IPL 2018 saw two of the most followed franchises, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, making a grand comeback to the cash-rich league. While CSK played some stunning cricket to lift the trophy for the third time, Royals continued playing in their own style and defeated the heavyweights to reach the playoffs.
The 12th edition of the tournament will be different in a lot of ways. Uncertainty is looming over the location of the IPL 2019 due to the general elections of India.
