# 5 West Indies vs Pakistan - Most wides bowled in an innings (37)
In the 9th Match of the Benson & Hedges World Series at Brisbane on Jan 7, 1989, West Indies team produced one of the worst bowling displays ever. They bowled a total of 59 extras which includes 37 wide deliveries.
It was a surprising statistic, as West Indies bowling line-up had experienced campaigners like Marshall, Ambrose and Ian Bishop.
It has been 28 years and this record hasn't been broken it. Extras were the third highest score of the Pakistan innings. Pakistan would not have even reached 200-mark had the West Indies bowlers were not generous enough.
Pakistan scored 258 runs from their 50 overs. Chasing a victory target of 259 runs, West Indies got all out for 203 runs in 40 overs. The extras proved lethal for West Indies as they decided the fate of the game.
