#2 Sachin Tendulkar
Much like Rahul Dravid, it is impossible to compile a batting list and not include the Master Blaster in that list. His impact and contributions to both Indian Cricket and World Cricket are so gigantic that it would be a shame to miss him out of any best batsmen list.
While we are all aware of his exploits against Australia and Pakistan in ODI, his record while playing against England is equally good, as he was India's highest run scorer against England for quite some time.
In his 23 years long ODI career, Tendulkar represented Indian in 37 matches against England and compiled a total of 1455 runs at an average of 44.09. Against England, his strike rate also increased a few points as he scored at a rate of 89.21. In addition to that Tendulkar has 2 centuries and 10 other 50+ plus scores to his name. What's ironic is that both of his hundreds, one of which came in 2011 World Cup, ended either in a draw or no result.
