#3 Nathan McCullum
For a period in the late noughties and early 2010s, New Zealand off-spinning all-rounder Nathan McCullum was one of the best players in his category in the world. His low trajectory accurate off-spin was often difficult to get away for most batsmen and on the other hand, his lower middle-order hitting added another edge to his game.
The total package made him the ultimate limited overs player and many would have thought that he would have become a star in the IPL like he had become for New Zealand. However, that is not how it all panned out for him and in the only season that he played in the tournament, he did not get much of an outing.
He only played 2 games for the Pune Warriors in the 2011 season and took no wickets. It can be said that perhaps 2 games is not a yardstick for any player but at the same time, one needs to impress in a few games in a hugely competitive league like the IPL.
