#1 Paul Valthaty
Paul Valthaty's rise in the IPL came after he scored a swashbuckling ton against the Chennai Super Kings to take his team through. In the 2011 season, Valthaty scored 463 runs at an average of 35.61. He proved that classical batsmen can survive in T20 cricket if they adjust themselves.
He opened the innings alongside explosive opener Adam Gilchrist. The pair played some stupendous knocks in the season. The course of his career soon turned in the wrong direction because of injuries. The injury-prone opener suffered multiple injuries which kept him out of domestic cricket for long periods.
After his miraculous season, he failed to make an impact. Currently, he is not a part of Punjab's domestic setup.
