2. Tom Banton - Kolkata Knight Riders
Tom Banton has raised many people’s eyebrows with his aggressive batting. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) picked up the young opener for just INR 1 crore in this year’s auction.
Banton recently participated in the first half of the BBL for Brisbane Heat and he had a good time there. He scored 223 runs in seven innings at a strike-rate of 176.98. In a game against the Thunder, he smashed a fifty in 16 balls which included five consecutive sixes.
In addition to his aggressive batting, he is a good wicket-keeper as well. KKR would be happy with their buy and they will be hoping he brings the same form in the upcoming IPL.
3. Josh Hazlewood - Chennai Super Kings
When Josh Hazlewood put up his base price for 2 CR many thought that he would go unsold but you never know about a team like Chennai Super Kings (CSK). CSK bought Hazlewood for his base price in this year’s auction.
The 29-year-old pacer was part of the Mumbai Indians squad in one of the seasons but didn’t get a single game. But this time there is a high chance that he would get to play for his franchise.
He isn’t known for his T20 bowling but he can bowl tight and make life difficult for the batsman. Dwayne Bravo is on a downward curve in his career and Lungi Ngidi gets injured frequently so CSK would be hoping that Hazlewood comes good in IPL 2020.
