Kamran Akmal has been criticised and his credentials as a wicket keeper have been questioned several times over his career. Nevertheless, he had tremendous potential with the bat, but his rusty performances behind the wickets didn’t help him retain his place in the side.

Batting has been the stronger aspect of his cricket and more so against India as he piled four Test tons against them. While he got the scores in Lahore, Karachi and Kolkata, his knock of 109 in 154 balls in Mohali was the most significant one.
