5 players who can benefit the most with India A's tour to Australia

The Indian selection committee on Wednesdayannounced the list of players who made it to the India A squad for the tour ofAustralia. Aspart of the BCCIs interest to help the fringe players gain moreexperience by playing in toughoverseas conditions, this tour is scheduled parallel to the Indian teams tour of England. The Quadrangular onedaytournamentis the one to watch out for as the players have a golden oppourtunity to impress the selectors for the ODI leg ofEngland tour.Only 4 players are part of both the 4 day matches and limited overs squad: Robin Uthappa, Manoj Tiwary, Ambati Rayudu and Dhawal Kulkarni. However, as many as 7 players of the India A team are part of the ODI squad that tours Bangladesh this month.Vinay Kumar, Wriddhiman Saha, Umesh Yadav, Amit Mishra andcaptain Suresh Raina are the oneswho miss out on the limited over squad that leaves for Australia. Considering the fact this is Rainas comeback series, he might not feature in the Indian squad for England, in casehe fails in Bangladesh.Let us have a look at fiveof those India A players who have more probability of joining the Indian side provided they make their chances count.

#5 Jaydev Unadkat

How many remember him as the guy who played a test match for India as a 19 year old. He also have 7 ODI caps to his name. The left-arm seamer is someone who can be a long term player for India and is probably the best of the left-arm bowlers around at moment.

Yes, there is Irfan Pathan, but he is definitely not doing enough to impress the selectors. This Saurashtra guy isn’t doing wonders either but has age on his side. The fact that he is leftie gives him advantage over Dhawal Kulkarni who is someone too good on the domestic scene not to have played for India.

#4 Sanju Samson

One ofnext generationIndian batsmen, he iswidely suggested as the next keeper who can possibly replace Mahendra Singh Dhoni, once the Indian captain hangs up his boots.

At 19 years of age, he can learn a lot by facing some fierce bowlers in Australian conditions and that might really be helpful for this lad to make much better shot selections. Everyone will be praying that this guy lives up to the promise and capabilites.

He might not find a place in the side till then as Robin Uthappas rise will make up for the back up keeper role. Still, he might be touring England for experience alone,if he makes some runs in Australia.

#3 Manoj Tiwary

He is someone who always gets injured everytime he is tipped tomakea comeback to national side. After recovering from the another injury this season, he is fresh, fit and raring to go and make a place for himself in the Indian middle order.

Even though there is just a slim chance for the Bengal batsmen to make the Indian squadgiven the competition for places, he is too good to be classified as domestic player. Hewill definitely be looking forward to givehis best shot.

#2 Mohit Sharma

The right-arm swing bowler has been a regular in the one-day side lately but given the competition for places and with the selectors keen to try more bowling options with an eye on the World Cup 2015 down under, the 23-year-old might consider himself lucky to tour Australia.

On conditions he may prefer bowling on, the bowler can stake a claim for a permanent place in the one-day side.

#1 Robin Uthappa

As you all would have expected, named as the captain of the ODI side, the right-handed batsman from Karnataka is on a high after a record breaking stint in the IPL. After adding the IPL to his trophy list, he might easily confirm his ticket to England with the Bangladesh series alone.

In case if he miss out in Bangladesh, this series will present him with another golden oppourtunity to force the selectors to pick him. Given the fact how easily he can dominate the bowling in his prime, if he keeps his concentration level high, it will be a relatively easy and successful outing for the 28-year-old.
