Mumbai Indians is a team which is right there at the top when it comes to the fan base. One of the most followed team since the inception of the Indian Premier League and the defending champions, Mumbai Indians would look to get their past match winners back to the team in the auctions.
It is a daunting task for the Mumbai franchise to choose a couple of players from the list of proven match winners in their team.
Here is the list of player we think are the probable names that Mumbai Indians can use their Right to Match (RTM) card on.
#5 Lendl Simmons
Lendl Simmons's numbers shoot up to a new high whenever he dons the Mumbai jersey. His record for the team has been exceptional. More importantly, he has delivered some impact performances for the team and has been a true match winner.
His international average of around 24 jumps around to 40 and his low strike rate of 116.58 rises up to a good 126.58 for Mumbai.
Simmons was one of the main reasons behind Mumbai's fantastic comeback run in the 2015 edition of the league when Mumbai went on to win the title for the second time.
#4 Mitchell McClenaghan
The Well-built Kiwi fast bowler has been an important part of Mumbai team in the past three seasons. The attacking fast bowler has the ability to get wickets at any point in the game. He has a total of 54 scalps for the Mumbai franchise in 40 games at a great strike rate of around 17.
His aggressive bowling style gets the best out of him and makes him a potential match winner in the shortest format. He has also played a couple of handy cameos for the Mumbai Indians and his ability to hit the ball a large distance does come handy.
#3 Jos Buttler
The English wicketkeeper has been one of those players who has had a remarkable growth as a player over the last few years. Capable of attacking the bowling attack right from the start, Jos Buttler is a proven match winner.
One more fact that makes his case stronger is the flexibility he can offer in the batting order. He was used as an opener in the last season and he fared well as he scored 272 runs at an aggressive strike rate of 153.67 and a par average of 27.20.
He can also be targeted as a wicketkeeping option by the Mumbai Indians.
#2 Krunal Pandya
The elder Pandya brother has been fantastic for Mumbai Indians. He has unarguably been the most valuable player for the Mumbai Indians in the past couple of seasons. Man of the Match from the IPL 2017 final, Krunal Pandya would definitely be eyed by many franchises in the auction.
Krunal Pandya has scored 509 runs in the 25 matches in his IPL career at an astounding average of 36.92 and a strike rate of 158.41. Adding to that, he has also taken 16 wickets at an economical 7.15 runs per over.
#1 Kieron Pollard
Kieron Pollard has had an eight-year-long journey with the Mumbai Indians. The Carribean has been one of the core members of the team over the last few seasons. A big hitter, capable finisher and an athletic fielder, Kieron Pollard has a lot to offer.
The all-rounder from Trinidad and Tobago has hit 2343 runs for Mumbai at a strike-rate of 148.52 and an average which almost touches 29. He has hit 147 sixes in 123 matches.
Although he arrived in the IPL stage as an all-rounder his bowling skill has been on a sharp decline and he has not taken even a single wicket in the past couple of seasons. Still, Mumbai Indians would like to get him back as his contribution to the team in spite of the decline in his bowling.
