He first came to limelight in the 2017 season of the IPL where he hit 277 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 134.46 and impressed everyone with his cameos.

On the back of a successful Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season, he was bought by Mumbai Indians for a whopping Rs. 6.2 crore in the IPL auction this season. The team believed in the young talent and he has proved to be a vital member of the squad.

In the ongoing season so far he has scored 270 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 157.89. He likes to deal in sixes rather than fours and his style of playing is a delight to be watched by a cricket fan. In the match against KKR, he scored 62 runs off just 21 deliveries that included 6 sixes.
