Liam Plunkett, a strongly-built bowler from England, was one of the replacement players in IPL 2018. Delhi Daredevils' (Delhi Capitals now) frontline bowler, Kagiso Rabada ruled out of IPL 2018 just before the start of the season. As a result, the English bowler, Liam Plunkett, was roped in by Delhi for the eleventh edition of IPL. It happened to be the first appearance for Plunkett in IPL.

Plunkett featured in seven matches for Delhi while picking up four wickets at an economy of 9.00 and an average of 56.25. Liam kicked-off his IPL journey with the match figures of 3 for 17 in the debut IPL game. However, he failed to carry forward the form as he managed to scalp only a solitary wicket in the remaining six games.

Hence, with pretty mediocre numbers in IPL 2018, Plunkett might get not bidders in 2019 IPL Auction. The argument gets much more weight pending the fact that Englishmen will be available only for a limited time in IPL 2018. Of late, Plunkett has been in the ODI schemes for England. Thus, the franchises wouldn't want to shell money on a player who hasn't been consistent enough and who might not be available for a prominent part of IPL.
