On April 8, 2018, Kings XI Punjab's wicket-keeper batsman K L Rahul scored the fastest ever half-century in the history of the IPL against Delhi Daredevils. He reached his 50 in just 14 balls (surpassing the previous joint record held by Yusuf Pathan and Sunil Narine in 15 balls) and blasted 51 runs (6 fours, 4 sixes) in just 16 balls at a stunning strike rate of 318.75, which aided KXIP to beat DD by 6 wickets.
